I was hoping we would know what the discount was so we could make some final decisions.

Reminder: Closing the group buy tomorrow (sunday) midnight.

You have to commit to a wheel/specs/details so that I can submit the list to Gert - so THEN he can sort out what the discount will be based on volume.
I will leave it up to each individual person to conclude their payment/shipping details with Gert.

From past group buys, I have often seen the vendor offer up the GB pricing in advance. For example:

1-5 10% off
6-10 15%
11+ 20%

I think that route would be easier to get peoples commitment with this method.

How can anyone really commit before having any idea what the final price will be.

I agree but its a bit late for that.....lets not worry about it until we see the numbers. Some % of people will pull out regardless so hopefully Gert is OK with that if he gives us good numbers. I am not sure what the markup is so its hard to say the % discount. Ideally we should also go to FVD etc. for comparison shopping but it could be lots of work for Matt.

When I spoke to FVD a few weeks ago, they offered PCA members a 5% discount. I think I spoke to a woman named Rhonda.
I could call Monday to see if they would offer a discount based on quantities. If I am not swamped I will give a call.
