I'm having mine installed today. Also with some mods that I have been putting off; Muffler bypass pipes, large oval tips, RS mounts. My door strap has been welded once and now the metal on the A frame is coming off. I'm having to have the A pillar replaced because it is so chewed up. Also my loose drivers seat and cab top will be fixed. When I get my machine back it'll be like new.

Default Getting TORX screws out of 993 wheel

OK - The screws on the new wheel are not Torx but Allen wrench, don't remember what size. Doesn't matter when wheel is off. But when going on ...
Also... I am having a problem getting the screws out of the steering wheel on the car. I have a 27 Torx driver, it's too big. I have equal allen wrench and can't get any leverage, I used wrench on end of allen and still they seem extremely tight.
Any suggestions?

Default More help needed.

I got the wheel off, but now I'm confused. See the 2 pics below.
The pic on the right, first thing I noticed is the tabs were broken (circled in yellow), the bottom one looks like a pc of it is the little pc on the outer perimeter of the plate also circled in yellow. The are plastic arms on the center ring, and they don't come all the way thru on the new wheel anyway. Don't think it matters.
The spring cirlced in red is the clock spring. Correct ?
What I can't figure out is how do I connect the horn. How do I connect, or what do I connect to the black connector with the red and black wires going to it from the left and right side of horn (pic on right). 2 additional wires come with the new wheel and I can't figure it out. Either it's too late, or I'm to excited.
Also, the wheel didn't go on exactly horizontal as the old one came off, it had a slight sku to it. Hopefully it isn't noticeable. Any and all help greatly appreciated.

Looks Great,

I see the 993 install is totally different than the 964. The 964's do not have the plate you show with the broken tabs bit a simple copper ring and spring loaded contact.

I have the same wheel with the CF instead of leather and mine has a T30 torx holding the AB in place. The supplied screws are allen to hold the hub on.

I drove my car yesterday for a good hour, first long drive. Initially I did not like the 340mm wheel with the fat grip but once I got accustomed to it, it really grew on me. Although hard turns take a bit more effort than before. I will post the finish product this weekend.

I finally got around to putting mine on....a pic below.

One part that was confusing...I assume the shrink tube is for the two sided metal tab that is attached to the hub? Why would this have to be covered since its effectively screwed to the hub? It might be good to know since the battery is currently out of the car and I have not hooked it up yet!

Cheers,

Mike
