I have the BK mount (that I got from Stable Energies) for my Recaro Pole Positions where the mount is secured between the side mounts and the sliders. It is tucked away quite nicely right up next to the seat (doesnt rub the passengers legs) and moves fore and aft with the passenger seat.

Default Rennline mount on sale for July for $105

In June I asked Tim at Rennline if he could put their mount on sale for me at $105 again (I'm shameless). He said he was going to do just that in July. It's July, so I just bought one. Safety first!

Their prices at the Hershey Swap meet were ridiculous......ridiculously cheap! I wanted to buy a set of pedals if they would install them but they declined.

Does anyone have a pic that shows how this is supposed to mount? Right now with the GT3 seats I am using the Brey Krause universal mount - the plus with this mount is that it is adjustable vs the Porsche 993 specific BK mounts, so the fire extinguisher is mounted snug up agains the seat and down low on top of the carpet. It's pretty out of the way but took a bit of trial and error to get the position right...but right now the way I've installed it I can't move the seat forward much for other people. I may reinstall it so that the mount will move with the seat when I have time.

I also have it mounted on the drivers side instead of in front of the passenger seat as it's actually easier for me to reach below and get the extinguisher then it is to lean across to the passenger side...esp if a passengers leg is in the way. I'd like to to switch to the BK one-hand quick release mount but $250 is a bit much for a mount even though it looks slick

I sucked it up and bought the fancy schmancy because trying to put it in the passenger well was just creating too much of a hassle for passengers.

Hmm...I'm not looking forward to my new Rennline so much at this point. Maybe it can go on the driver side? At 6'3" it's already a PITA for me to get in, so how much worse can a fire extinguisher make it? BTW- I'm pretty comfy once I'm in, though.

OK so I bit the bullet and bot the BK quick release mount....it's very well made and pretty slick but it better be for the price It is very easy and quick to remove and there are no straps that get in the way. A small benefit is that b/c of the way it attaches I actually got a little bit more room up front...but it doesn't really matter since no one drives this car except me so no real need to adjust the seats.

this works for me.
Cost me ~ $6 and an hour of labor cutting / sanding / drilling the 1/8" Al plate.
I sandwich the plate between the seat and the floor rails.
It's 2 piece so i can remove the extension part without fiddling with the seat if i want to.

easy - peasy.

Since we are talking about fire supression, what do you guys think about this?

http://www.litegrip.com/firegrip.php

You could mount a couple on a harness bar or wherever you wanted.

I have had a number of fire extinguishers/mounts and have found the best to be by Safecraft http://www.safecraft.com/. Search for pictures.

Forgot to mention why I like it best. First, all billet aluminum. Two aluminum (heavy duty) straps around the bottle. Held to mount by bracket/heavy duty pin. Will not come loose in accident, but pull pin for quick release. Looks very snazzy as well (especially in the crinkle black).

No affiliation, just a happy customer.

Default Sorry for the noob questions....

So do these cars catch on fire a lot?

Do I need to install a fire bottle?

Is this a track requirement?

Man.......will it ($$$$$) ever end?

for what it is worth, I did the Stable Energies mount. I like the fact that it moves with the seat, however, it bounces up and down constantly. Pretty annoying.

So, I will either make my own or modify this one. When I get around to solving it I will post something
