Default Headlight Lens Replacement

I did a search for this specific question but did not find the answer so here goes.
I want to replace the headlight lens (only). I removed the entire headlight unit and split the lens/frame from the lamp/reflector body. No problem here. So when I order the new lens, does it come in the frame that has the tabs or do you get just the lens? If it is just the lens you get and no frame, how do you remove the lens from the frame? I probed around the frame but couldn't figure out how to remove the lens from the frame. Can anyone help me out with this?

It is the lens on the plastic frame as one piece. You can see it in this photo with the plastic tabs that lock it onto the main headlight body. This is a euro glass piece, so do not use this part number...

What (Viper)Bob said !

And, not for nuffin' -- the BEST place to order them is from Autohausaz (i.e. autohaus arizona). InTheAir put me onto this place (Thanx Jeff!) and he was right! I ordered two - at an unbelievable price -- and got free shipping to boot!

Your welcome. I try to keep pics around of these things just in case I need to send / post them...

It is a good idea to order a new headlight gasket when you replace the lenses. They many times will become brittle with age and not seal well to a new lens....

Bob, I believe the gaskets come with the replacement lens but I will contact Autohaus and make sure I get new gaskets.

Thanks again!

This is such a great, easy-to-do improvement. I did mine and it made the front end of my car look brand new!

Bob, I have not received them as yet. I just ordered them on line yesterday from Autohaus. I'm having them sent UPS Ground so when I get home hopefully there will be a tracking number. I am guessing it will take three days to get them. By the way, the are listed on the website as being Bosch.

All: I received my replacement lenses today from Autohaus Arizona. They came with the rubber gasket applied and also the interior plastic refector mounted towards the bottom of the lens. All this for $110. for both left and right including shipping. They also came packaged in Bosch boxes.

I want to thank all you Rennlisters out there for giving me the direction and advice where to purchase these lenses and what I could expect would come with them. Without all of you, I am a dog lost in the woods!!!!! Is this a great site or what????? You all are the best!!!!!!

Cool! IMHO, the best $110 I've spent on my car.

I just put new lenses on too, I also ordered some 40mil pre-cut plastic covers for them, very easy to install, a little water, hair dryer to stretch and dry, and lots of squeegeeing out the water! the plastic was nearly as expensive as the lenses itself, but hopefully will help with the rock chips.

When reinstalling the headlight, did you remove the electrical socket from it's mount and connect it to the headlight before remounting the headlight? I am following the OM instructions but can obtain a proper connection. Thanks in advance.
