I just took that to my local dealership and they honored that price, but made me buy a whole case.
I would not use the Redline racing oils, but rather their street oils, since they don't put detergents in the racing oil, unless this is for a true race car, being dumped out after every race. Otherwise, Redline is a great way to go with enough Zn and P to get by.

Redline 15W50 (street formulation) for me. Even before this controversy I switched given the minimal cost savings of Mobil-1 vs. Redline (~$8/quart for Redline) and comments I had heard about declining quality of Mobil-1. FWIW off the side of the Redline bottle "Recommended for API CH-4/CG-4/CF/SJ/SH". It isn't actually API rated (doesn't have the seal) but that's Redline's recommendation. Don't see the point in mucking about trying to find the "correct" M1.
