Is it bad to use Motul brake fluid for street?
Hi,
I am about to loose my track viginity with my Ruf. I am taking her out to Thunder Hill in 2 weeks time. My tech suggests changing the brake fluid to Motul for the track event, and said it's fine to leave it there for street use.
Is there any reason not to follow his advice? FWIW, I am not going with Pagid or similar race pads, as I am not planning on many track events, and those pads squeal like a scalded pig when cold.
Thanks for the education.

I've used it in all my cars. Nice high wet boiling point.
I have read the occasional internet anecdote about needing to flush it more often than other street-oriented fluids. Anyone know where that came from?

Actually, I have driven Laguna Seca and Infineon before, but not in my own car, certainly not the Ruf.
Hope I don't ball it up this time.

Motul is fine for the street. If you track the car you need to replace the brake fluid every six months anyway.

It is Friday 4-6-07. It is Hooked on Driving in conjunction with Porsche of Fremont sponsorship. Gunther (Porsche of Fremont) got me into it. Brandon Krause (son of Roger Krause) wil be my private instructor. Ever since he aligned the car, he is drooling to test that out on a track.
April 6 is Good Friday and I have 1/2 day off as is. It is probably going to be great weather in Willows that time of the year, so I am dipping my toe into the water. I pick Thunder Hil for my first Ruf DE event, as you well know, the track has virtually no walls, so it is relatively safe should I have an off-track excursion.
I offered Pin to drive the Ruf there and he declined. He claims that he does not want to be 'hooked on driving', ever again.
Pin and I are having lunch on Monday, you interested?
