The ad says it's for a 993 with an automatic transmission ... is there really a difference in the airbox covers based upon transmission style?

err... no...

The only difference is that the manuals have a "snorkel" from the tranmission (clutch) bell housing to the smaller hole on the cover...

Same part in both cases though.. Oh and just realized that I've bought from this seller before. Transaction went OK for me...though YMMV.

What's YMMV?
I still spend a long time trying to work these out!

Jeff,

I was in Reno over the weekend, sorry I didn't get a chance to hear the pipes, I didn't bring my fat assed cab anyway. Weather was terrible driving home Sunday, it took me 9 hours to get over the summit! Next time I won't go home 'til Monday.

The ad may be a little confusing, it is not for a 95-98. The airbox covers are different between 95 and 96-98.

Are you sure Mo? I thought the covers were all the same. The cover shown on the auction looks like it is missing the plug for the snorkel opening. The AT versions had this plug.

Dave,

Others may reconfirm. But recall a few years ago, a 96-98 airbox would not fit on my 95.

My experience is limited to my late build MY95. The later models fit my car but I can't speak for all versions.

The lids are the same, its the main airbox part that is different as they do not mount the same due to intake manifold differences.

There has been a bunch of snow here lately. Even I-80 was closed for a bit. Give me a shout next time your around. BTW, I have v2.0 in the works now which will incorporate a larger internal bypass. This should raise the volume to where I wanted it to start with.
