Damian how what was your indication that they were worn out????

JERRY

Hi Jerry,

I saw a post on rennlist about low mileage shocks wearing out...my car only has 35,000 miles on it and after seeing the post, I happened to be driving the car a week or so later on the freeway and noticed that it was making a lot of squeaky shock noise....I then reflected on a friends 993 that only had 18,000 miles and remembered that this was a noise that he first started to hear prior to his left strut fully imploding...so, I'm at that point where I am pretty positive it's my shocks and struts.

Hope this helps!

Damien

Not to post a new thread, a little OT.

Where could i buy a set of M033 springs? Anyone? Online shop? New or used in good shape.

Gert hasn't got at the moment.

The dealer quoted me with 850$ for the set.

p.s. I'm in europe.

Your dealer has got it wrong.
The WHOLE m033 springs and shock absorbers included, do costs $850.
Let your dealer quote you the price for the M033 option that is sold as a kit with struts and springs.

as a kit, part number 000 044 500 00, cost 674 euros

so if you want to purchase the springs alone, they should be around 140 euros the pair.

Ghm. I got that price from two different dealers (germany, latvia).
They both ask ~140 euro for one spring. :/
Is there any other place to get M033 springs?

Your dealer STILL has got it wrong,
Porsche 993 springs are sold in PAIRS, never in ones.

So the price they gave you are for the pair,

Everyone here reckons the stock shocks don't last anyway. I took there advise and am looking forward to attempting the job myself.
You're going to be a happy camper. You described the
previous traits of my car perfectly. The general
consensus is that the stock Monroe shock are junk
and should never have been on our cars
in the first place.
