I was wondering the same thing. I thought it was a bad idea to powder coat aluminium wheels.
I agree...I thought most of the stock 993 wheels are painted including mine. Mind you the wheel does go through heat cycles (especially on the track) but I bet the whole wheel does not get as hot as for powdercoating. The wheel repair shops I have used also use paint ; very good quality paint but paint nevertheless.
