Default Gert's FPB for re splitters?

I am installing a NB front bumper cover and rs splitters on the front of my 993 TT. Mounting the lower center section of the bumper to the car is a stainless U channel and rubber (Looks like a wiper?). The factory PET calls this a "spoiler" and it is part number 993 505 523 00. Mine has taken it on the chin literally...
Question is... do I use this if I get Gert's FPB _and_ does Gert's FPB work in conjunction with the rs splitters or should I make up something more substantial (ie larger and move it forward).

Any ideas?

RS?
On the RS you remove the center chin spoiler to use the FPB, leave the sides in place

Thanks for the help Bill. Not sure I completely understand ... you say:

" you remove the center chin spoiler to use the FPB, leave the sides in place",

Ok so you are saying you remove the center chin spoiler.. which is really a stainless steel U channel about .5" inches on a side with a plastic component nested on it. The plastic component is about 1 inch and is a mini air spoiler.

But you say leave the sides in place. Not sure what this means... I am using Ma shaw side splitters and they slot in quite nicely... see nothing else peripheral around...

Thanks in advance,

Sounds like you have a GT2 splitter, not RS. I don't beleive those bars work with GT2 splitters

I think most splitter/lips etc, will touch before the bar. I know if I had a TS spoiler on the front it would definately scrape before touching the bar...and if the bar was touched goodbye TS spoiler..

This is what the RS chin pieces lok like, the long one is removed to use the FPB

this is what it looks like w/ the FPB installed

I agree it doesn't sound like you have the RS pices maybe the RS/CS or GT2?

Bill:

That pic was an eye opener. I believe my turbo had the center section with the factory turbo bumper.. but I have never seen the smaller side sections. They are not on my car. These side pieces either do not come on the turbo or they had their integrity "compromised" and chucked.

I think I see these small side sections flanking Gert's protection bar. I better go back and check the PET, didn't see those in there, perhaps since I only looked in the USA PET.

Can I purchase these from sunset? I was placing an order with them for my "other" needed accesories.

Thanks for the help and push forward!

Sorry for the hijak
Hey Bill, is that a wind deflector of some sort under the RS splitter? I thought I had factory splitters but mine do not have that piece underneath.

Yes, look at the picture above w/ the 3 separate pieces, the 2 smaller ones(chins) bolt under the RS splitters

Again the turbo bumper is set up differently. It only has 1 piece in the middle(993.505.523.00) and no flanking pieces. The RS/CS is more complicated w/ 5 main pieces in the center and again no flankers. You'll have to ask Sunset

Bill:

Many thanks for the posting. I did not have the PET here at my office. Wow, there are many parts there for the RS that I was not aware of. I need to step hack and take a look at what will fit my turbo with superflous hole drilling.

I do like the rs splitter and will stick with them. The Ma Shaw components are a godo fit. I just need to see what details below need to be properly attended to.

Best Regards,

Lightbulb Tip

If you don't have PET, you can go to dcautomotive. They have the drawings online.
