My name comes from the fact that I do most of my fun driving on Sunday and stole the name from Brock Yates and his book by the same name - a cute play on words.

Good thread!
I got mine subscribing to Diablo 2 online. No, I'm not 13, and yes, you should try computer games or Playstation 2 or X Box 360! You can stay with simulations and learn to fly, fight in a war, fly fighter jets, apache helicopters...........or be a mage or a knight.
I have a lousy memory for passwords, so I try themes. Lord of the Rings is an easy one, so I tried the usual: Gandalf and combinations like "the white" (all taken), tried Aragorn as I didn' t fancy a puny name like Frodo. All taken. So I tried Orc. Taken of course! Then, given I live in Chile, I added "fromthesouth". Bingo!
So as these forums got bigger, I started to join a few, using Orcfromthesouth or Orc for short.
Later in life I figured avatars, and stole mine from the Warcraft game. I'm proud of mine.

I love this thread. FGL Stands for Fan Gwailow a Cantonese slur that means Evil Foreign Devil. It was given to me by a borrower I was working with at a bank. He was constantly trying to get the advantage of the bank and I countered his every move. One day, out of frustration he called me that. I told him I knew what he said, and told him. Things went well after that. The 28 is a lucky number and my anniversary 2/8.

Did anyone notice that some people's user names are not what you would have expected them to mean?
For instance - Berkeley: I thought that maybe you just went to school at UC Berkeley and it was your alma mater.
Your background on that oft repeated family name is fascinating and I will always think of it now when I read your user name.
This goes for many of your usernames. Some of your explanations are hilarious, interesting, and ironic.

No explanation should be needed with mine! I was lucky enough to grab "911" very early on. It's been my user name on several other forums, as well.
