Try Precision Motorsports in Califon, NJ @ 908-832-6572. This is the best shop I have ever encountered. I trailer my Cup 4 hours each way from Upstate NY to let Will, John, and the crew pamper my baby.

I too use Precision in Califon. Will is one of the best, and is always at track events supporting his customers (he is at Sebring right now).

The other shops you asked about also have very good reputations.

Precision in Califon sounds awesome. A bit of a hike for me though.

I have a collection of 993s which are maintained currently by Protosport. I work with Jon and Paul. They are high professional, super-knowledge about air cooled products; they are super meticulous about things being tidy and square and done right. They will come at times to my warehouse and pick up one of the cars. their prices are reasonable. i recommend them highly. i have not worked with teh other shops but have also heard good things about them.

spg...seen your collection on Renn. If they're good enough for you, they're good enough for me. I'll give them a call. Thanks!!

I'm sure there a lot of good shops out there. I went with them because they were incredibly accomodating, and really meticulous. I had Jonto my shop to work on the artic grey <700miler which i didnt wan tto take out. he did a ton of stuff i would not have done, and whne i got back, my tool drawers were more organized than before. everyone has a different philosophy. we seemingly are on the same page, so a good fit.
but lots of good shop. yet, i think you'l like them. tell him them i referred you. buenos suertes.

I have used almost all the shops In Northern NJ area at one time or another over the past 25+ years.

My personal opinion is the best shop for turbos in this area hands down is:

Rick Deman of Deman Motorsports, Nyack NY www.demanmotorsport.com 845-727-3070

Second on my List would be Will Digiovanni of Precision Motorsports Racing, Califon 908-832-6572. Incredibly knowledgeable and worth the drive.

Protosport, Stable Energies(europerf racing) Powertech in Rockaway etc are all good shops, but these other 2 are superior. Will DiGiovanni is one of the most meticulous guys out there. Every nut that gets torqued gets a dab of paint and he doesn't miss a thing. Rick Deman, is very knowledgeable and can extract every last pony out your engine and still guarantee it runs safely. The others will do A work these 2 do A++.

If you don't mind traveling North try Dan Jacobs of Hairy Dog Grrrage in Oxford, CT www.hairydoggrrrage.com 203-262-0569 he is on par with these 2 in NJ.

Just my experience.

Thanks all!
Right now, since this is my first Pcar ('95 993 coupe, manual with 37K miles) I'm just looking for a relaiable and honest shop for when anything somes up including routine maintnance. No racing in my near future....probably autocross. Car has been well maintained by 2nd owner for the past 11 years and I'm looking to keep it that way.
Convenience is helpful...I live about 5 miles north of the GW bridge and work in NYC. So dropping off and commuting back and forth to pick up is a plus.

I have used PowerTech and am very happy with them. Will be using Protosport this time to install my suspension.

I know this is a late response to the original question but hope it helps others avoid wasting time and money. AVOID Stable Energies at all costs - Bob does not stand behind his work or recommendations. He recommended and installed a new suspension a while back, parts were defective from manufacturer, he attempted to correct the problem several times and failed - he finally shoved in some used parts. I found out when I had the suspension ripped out and replaced after giving up on Bob and his shop. Same issue with breaks - bad install and charged me to correct his problem! Zero customer service after spending so much money and making so many trips to his shop.
I had Protosport put in the new suspension - what a difference! Great workmanship and support - car drives awesome.
Avoid Stable Energies, take your business to Protosport!!
