I need somebody to check out a '99 BMW 540 that I am considering. Would like to have a Rennlister give it a once over before I pay to have a PPI done or start to negotiate a price. I figured nobody does a better job doing sanity checks than fellow 993 Rennlisters. I wouldn't trust anyone at Bimmerforums or Roadfly.

I lived in Mundelein this summer... as far as i know there aren't many listers in that direct area...

Curious, what kind of area is Mundelein? Nice? The kind of area you would expect to find a descent BMW?

um... certain parts of mundelein are... others are pretty shady... i did see a lot of nice cars there though... i'd def look into it...

It's at a place called Edgewater Auto Sales at 26200 Route 83. It's a silver '99 540i Sport 6 sp.

I'm not in that area but drive sort of by it on my way home from work.. I drive right by corner of route 60 and milwaukee avenue (very close)


...so if you can't find anyone else, I can take a look o my way home from work on monday but right now I need to go to a dr appt.. back later to check if you responded...

Thanks Chris. I have verbally commited to buying a private owner '98 540 in Milwaukee, but the one in Mundelein is number 2 on my list if the '98 falls through. If it's no inconvenience, I would appreciate a R'lister report to see if the salesman has been straight shooting with me.
