I have the gearbox rattle on my 95 up to 2000 rpms or so, which is even more pronounced now that the interior has been stripped.
I have no stall or shifting issues (RS shift kit installed)...seems like some cars have one thing and not the other, and vice-versa per model year other than what is supposed to be present (noises, stall). For example, fast_freddy has no rattle in his 95, and I do. The quicker acceleration is certainly worth it, however.

Now that you all mention it mine does have a slight rattle at idle, but it really doesn't bother me. If I wanted a plush car I would have bought a benz. My 993 is loud, low, and fun as hell to drive

It's most certainly up for daily driver duties, thats what I do. The best way to think of the clutch release at "takeoff" is somewhat similar to that of a Carrera GT. Go very very easy on the throttle input when you initially release the clutch, once it grabs plant the right foot and blast off like you just lit a nuclear bomb.
I also find that it does not lose much revs between shifts, which also helps accleration.

I spoke with Steve W this morning, while I await my '95 to come off the lift with the lwf installed. He tells me that every '95 chip that he reflashes for track use is jiggered to compensate the fuel mapping and timing for the lwf.
I'm also happy to report that he tells me he's recuperating well.

The clutch in my car was replaced two years and 11,000 miles ago and it's slipping like mad, so I'm pretty sure it's all coming apart (hopefully they did not screw up the crank seal they did at the same time -- all way past warranty unfortunatly). I've been thinking about doing the LWF if I have to be in there.... so this is a great mod huh? Are theye any idle issues?

To be clear a LWF and stock clutch in a '96 C4S should yield fews stalls given different driver clutch technique, no?
The benefit is quicker "spool up" but its a little louder. I'd presuppose that with X-pipes and "sport" mufflers I may not hear it. <<I'm sorry you'll have to speak up- I didn't get that>>

Hear what? The only time my car stalled was when the ECU was re-learning after plugging the battery back in....went away in about 20 minutes. I do feel the synchros more with the LWF, not sure if thats normal or if I need to change the timing of my shifting. ......V-Bob?
