I'm looking forward to doing this as well. I've driven cars with and without the LWFW and I opt for the latter! ...Two completely different personalities. I can't wait to use up my stock clutch .
Definetely a worthy mod... but I need to do some research on adapting it to a '95.

Forklift, that wasn't me- mine is Red. You are more than welcome to take a ride; I may even let you drive it! I'm off Duke St near King Metro.

As for cost I only paid for the parts and a new chip for my 95 C2. I'm pretty handy and have a really nice buddy with a lift

I wouldn't say it's harder to drive, but I did stall it the first couple of times. The car revs SO much better. DO IT

It's most certainly up for daily driver duties, thats what I do. The best way to think of the clutch release at "takeoff" is somewhat similar to that of a Carrera GT. Go very very easy on the throttle input when you initially release the clutch, once it grabs plant the right foot and blast off like you just lit a nuclear bomb. We're dealing with a competition clutch here, think of how Nascar cars take off, thats because the clutch is either on or off, there's very little "modulation" to it. In terms of the my 95' issue that people speak of here, I don't think there is any. Check out Adrian Streathers book about 993's he says the issue is with MY 96'. Mine stalled a few times at first then got better and only stalled if I depressed the clutch and coasted from a very low RPM, it would just stall. Upon the recommendation of a fellow Rennlister I disconnected the battery let the ECU "re-set" and haven't had a problem since.

90 miles round trip, 5 days a week, for 2 years with the LWF RS clutch...no regrets (not even when i am sitting in traffic).

There is no reason to use a competition clutch puck style disc with the LWF, a stock 993 pressure plate and a regular sprung hub disc are more than capable.

OK pardon my ignorance but:

1 Where do you get a LWF?
2 Is it a Porsche OEM part or are there good alternatives?
3 If you us an RS clutch adn Presssure plate I can see a diff in engagement but if you use the stock should feel the same
4 There was soem talk about MY95 having a rolling marble sound w/ it

TIA

I have had the LWF and RS set up for 3 years. I have grown so custom to it, I cant remember what the dual mass was even like. I did the upgrade since I had a rear seal leak.

I do not believe it makes any difference if you use the car for a daily driver.

I do still get the occassional stall, which is more prone to the 95.

Mark, Mark, Mark.... It is always easier to take weight off the car rathing that losing weight yourself, and it is easier to add more power cornering capability etc then it is to make a better driver. Becoming a better driver takes time and a lot of it (natural talent helps). In the world of instant gratification, what could be better than more "go fast" mods

I love my LWFW. Thanks Bob!

I'm a daily driver and it's not a problem.
