Winter storage - no power for battery tender
Looking for advice on battery storage for the winter. I have my car stored at a place where they don't offer electrical power. Should I remove the battery from the car, take it home and put it on a battery tender? If so, what is a good tender? And, are there tenders out there that will maintain more than one battery at a time.
Thanks,
Eric

I've tried many ways to help batteries through winter storage - but simply disconnecting the ground strap has worked better that anything: Every 2-4 weeks, voltage is checked: if >12.4v, the battery is healthy - if not, it gets a 'trickle' shot from a charger.
In your case, that may determine when & if you remove it.
Not a direct answer, but I have hooked three stored cars in parallel to one 1 amp trickle charger. Current only flows to the site of low potential ( voltage), and cannot exceed the nameplate of the charger - so IMO, it is safe to do multiple hookups.

Regarding multiple port battery tenders - yes, the "Battery Tender" brand has a 4-port tender that I bought a few years ago (Pic attached). I use it for each "season" - I take off the snowmobile batteries, then keep the lawn tractor, car trailer, track car, etc batteries for the winter, etc. It has the nice "intelligent" lights to show you state of charging and has interchangeable leads with either clamps or small ring terminals, and long leads so I can have a car plugged in and have several batteries on the bench.

I'm using "Battery Tender Plus" It does a float instead of trickle charge which can be harmful to betteries. Site below, no affiliation.

Andreas,
No, it doesn't per se. It is a heated building wth one big room for storage (think of it as a big indoor parking lot). They don't allow any electrical devices being plugged in, so I have to remove the battery and bring home.
