smog problems, ECL light on
had my car at the body shop for 4 month. battery went dead at some point.
got car back. idle a little rough. 2nd drive ECL light comes on. went to autozone to borough a obd2 reader. code p1124 and p1126 showed up. reset the code at that time. 35 miles later Ecl is on again. reset again.
now i go for my needed smog check. as you probably figure i failed the test on the OBD2 codes even no ECL was showing.
whats the best way to solve this? i cleaned out the ISV valve over the weekend and thinking also to perform the 2ndary air injection valve clean job.
thanks.

My recommendation would be to drive the car...

Clearing CEL also clears readiness monitor test results to prevent someone with an engine problem simply clearing the CEL then running car through test and getting a quick window of time in which a smog test might find the engine ok.
To set all the readiness monitors to complete car needs to be driven. In CA Porsche dealer has laptop with program that indicates what is needed to help ensure engine has the chance to set its readiness codes to complete. All must be set to complete before engine can be smogged. Other states might have different requirements.
If CEL stays off and if all readiness monitors indicate they are complete then you can have car smog checked.
If CEL comes back on you will have to trouble-shoot the reason and address it, correct it, then drive car long enough to complete all readiness monoitor tests.
Sincerely,
Macster.
