Pong,

Great choice. Congrats.

Is the Cayman wider and longer compared to the 993?

Wish you many happy miles.

mo,

The Cayman is definitely bigger in all dimensions, and in the cabin too. It is also about 350 lbs lighter.

I now have 645 miles on it, roughly 1/3 through the break-in miles. It is a really fun car. For a Porsche, it is relatively cheap to maintain. I can get a set of tires for $450 at Tire Rack. A set for my Ruf runs $1,200. My insurance is less than $1k per year, average mileage is around 26 MPG. Almost like owning a Camry as far as running costs go.

I am glad I got it.

Great looking car Pong, love the color Amazing how small our little 993's are huh? Such a tiny little package compared to the more modern models. Still love the 993's though!

Chris,

That is why I will always keep the 993, in my case a Ruf BTR. The Cayman is the addition, not a replacement.

When Porsche coined the slogan: There is no substitute, they are thinking of the 993, I'm sure. (I know the slogan came out way before the 993 did, just my wishful thinking )

Wow. Congrats Pong! Didn't realize you were pulling the trigger. Awesome addition to the stable and that would be my color of choice as well.

Do you feel more confident [in the corners] with the Cayman compared to the Ruf?

Enjoy!

Whoo hoo! Congratulations Pong! Now it's time for you to make a road trip up here to break it in! Just kidding...

Very happy for you!

Have you also considered having a shortshifter installed? You tried mine out and I imagine that it probably will be similar in yours as well.

I think that most if not all modern Porsches are broken in at 2000 miles.

Tony,

Would you like me to shoot over to Pong's place and grab those seats for you? Muwhahaha.

Pong,

Thanks again for letting me drive your new baby. While not a powerhouse (compared to Rufus), it is simply a great car, beautiful to see, and fun to drive. Best of luck. Oh, and Tony said its OK if I pick up those seats for him.
