Default 1997 993 C2 Coupe 88K for $25k Good Deal?

A friend of mine is looking at 1997 993 C2 Coupe. It has 88000 miles and the owner is asking $25K. The interior is in excellent shape. The only problem is it had been rolled and has salvage cert. The tracks excellent and the body work is great. No frame or engine damage. They have custom Lowenhart 19".

I know salvage hurts the value but is $25k too high?

Thanks in advance for the help.

In my book, $25K for an 88K mile salvage title 993 is too much. $25K for an 88k mile 993 is about in line, although perhaps just a tad on the low side.

Why bother? This one is similar money, near you, less miles, and may not be a salvage:

I would check the frame very closely. It is hard to believe that a 993 rolled over and didn't suffer any tub damage. IMHO.

Didn't see that one coming... "only problem is it had been rolled"...
A roll is a pretty severe wreck.

I agree with Jeff. Too much, salvage title or not.

That is the funniest quote of '07 so far. Seriously, That car is unsaleable at any price except as a parts car. Just because it looks nice doesn't mean it will still have structural integrity if, god forbid, you were to roll it again. IMHO that is a potentially lethal salvage job.

And... even if the car is structurally sound, and repaired correctly, that salvage title is a stone you always get to carry... usually amounts to a 35% to 50% discount on resale. Could be a great track car (if sound) if it could be had for mid teens.

if not salvage title, that is a steal of a deal.. but for salvage title.. not-so-much

I'd say $20k more realistic for salvage title IMHO

Thanks for the advise. I pretty much expected what most had said but still wanted to check.

I should have said " The only BIG problem is it had been rolled....""

I think my friend has the Porsche bug now so if you know of any non salvaged 993's within the price range, I would appriciate the info. He lives in the CHino area.

dcdude68...Thanks, I sent him the info.

Thanks Again
