...what would you be driving right now?

964? 996? M3? Ferrari? Corvette, God forbid? What would it have been?

If the 993 didn't exist, I'm not sure there would even be a 996.

But, to answer the question, probably a 930 or a Z06.

I seriously looked at M series BMW's (and the 330's) before the 993 but the 993 is so much more of an "experience" and thats what I was after

I bought the 993 as aninterim step while waiting for an Elise. After getting the 993 and driving an Elise on the track I canceled the orfer for the Lotus. So if the 993 didn't exist I would probably have a creaky Elise in the garage.

I wasn't even in the market for a car when I bought mine...I mean not at all. I was happy as could be just cruising around in my '95 525i with no interest in a sports car at all; I liked them for sure, but hadn't given the first thought of getting/looking for one. Then one day, I saw this beautiful black Porsche 911 parked in the Walmart parking lot....with a FOR SALE sign in the window. The way that car "grabbed me and wouldn't let go" was absolutely scarey....I simply couldn't not have it, that wasn't an option. Sooo, long story short, if it wasn't for the 993, I simply wouldn't have a 3rd/weekend car at all.
