Default Optima battery install problems

Happy Holidays to all. Just bought an Optima 34/78 to install in my 1995 993 tip after hopefuly curing all the electrical woes. No problem with the technical installation of the battery, fit well with the supplied clamps, although with the positive terminal foward and the neg. back near the ground cable the terminals arec outboard and a little less accessible. No problem...untill I tried to attache the positive cable! The terminals are too far into the battery , so the angled clamp can't be attached. Either I have to bend the clamp flat or cut all 4 wires that go into the clamp and attach to new clamp or find some sort of extension which I have been unable to locate

Any ideas or help. Thanks. The sooner the better because right now I have a beautiful green paperweight sitting on my drive until I can reattach the battery!

IIRC, the correct Optima battery for a 993 is a 75/35.

I used one of those brass battery shutoff adapters with the green **** (about $10 from Eastwood) which made it possible to use the factory positive cable.

Thanks for the help. Tried the brass battery shut off, bot the angle on the 993 positive cable still got in the way. How'd you do it? Otherwise I'll try to exchange the 34/78 for a 25, 35, 0r 75/35.

where did you get it online? 120 is a good price, about 30 less than sears and no tax i assume. sears irks me.

I guess I fit the wrong battery...I just reefed on the positive connector and got it to fit.....maybe I was just lucky!

Cheers,

Mike

Mike, what did you do to get it to fit the more inboard location of the 34/78 terminals?
Thanks
