We listed a one owner '97 993 Cab with 26,000 miles on it in the classifieds a few weeks ago here on Rennlist. Triple black and the car was perfect. Although receiving no inquiries from the site, we sold the car locally for $41,900. We felt that was a fair price. Dealers' business models obviously vary - we could have listed it for $50k and sat on it for months but that's not how we operate.

Again, not everyone buying used Carreras, in fact probably not most buying used Carreras, are Rennlisters who want 6 speeds.

The high-line dealers in my region are all busy tying their shoes when a tip comes available (and most are wearing loafers). When they do have one on the floor, it is super clean with low miles....and priced well below the 6-spds, and they bought it well below the 6-spds. (not knocking Tips, just the facts).

Kelly and NADA are of no use with valuing these cars.

Cabs never sell for a premium - at least I have never seen that to be the case.

I agree that 993 cabs do not command much premium, if any. In the northeast, 996 and 997 cabs certainly do.

Hijacking threads where you have more than 1 cranky post is a favorite past time of mine. Of course, I have a lot of time on my hands while i run around buying up all the 98 C2s cars with low mileage in impeccable condition for $3x,xxx.... Anybody have one?

In fact, Excellences numbers are closer to what PhlatBlackfill (or whatever his name was at the time) sold his C4S for. While I'm sure his car was great, Im sure even PheloniousFill would not have considered his car to be in the top tier pricing condition. It also did not take him long to sell that car. Gasp, it had even been tracked once or twice.

Good one Alfie,

Happy New Years.

I tried sending you some customers, don't know if they ever contacted you.

One called me about a cayenne , but i couldnt understand his phone number, and never heard back. Thank you though, I do appreciate it. BTW, since your car is 2 years older than mine, I'll allow you to upgrade to a 96 carrera coupe, even swap, just because i'm a nice guy, and an online source said i would be crazy to consider it. There, do we have a deal?

Happy New Year to you as well

Sorry Howie NO DEAL.

I was offered a premium and a 997TT at cost from a local dealer and although I was tempted I couldn't do it. Maybe someday, but still having too much fun with it.

I'm not calling you cranky, I'm calling the tone of your posts cranky, because i can see you roll your eyes when someone says that 17k mile 98 C2s silver black aerokit cars are worth 30 grand.

Anthony, you realize that by not taking the deal, you have to open 5 more cases held by models in santa suits, right?

I was trying to show HEROIC restraint.....we are talking restraint of EPIC proportion here. I re-read my posts and tried to make them nice...I am rather disappointed to learn that I failed.

I wouldn't call it a failure, your posts were certainly on the nice side, and your restraint is commendable. After all, I described them as cranky, not like some response Carso would give to an app when he is drunk with a megaphone at 2AM

OK, since people arent coming out of the woodwork yet, I will not pay ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS over Excellene pricing for excellent condition 1998 C2S and C4S cars. Any takers yet?
