There are waiting lists for watches? Amazing!

(I guess I'm out of the loop, since I haven't worn a watch for over 30 years!)

This post seemed very familiar, till I just went back to the other website where I was on 5 minutes ago before checking in here tonight, and you posted over there too (TZ.com).

Small world. I was going to mention that you might want to post over on Timezone.com, the Rolex modern forum, but... it seems like you've discovered that place as well.

Congrats. See you over there... and here.

pay 10k on ebay.
i fear that it will be centuries before you get called on the list, unless you dump 5k a month a the store for a few years.

I need some enlightenment. Is Rolex really that good? Please educate.

In 2001, I designed and built my in-law a house (no charge). They gave me a Rolex to say thank you. I am not into watches so I asked them to return it, which they did. The salesman refused to believe that someone would refuse a Rolex. Did I make a mistake?

Not necessarily. Sometimes you get lucky after hounding your authorized Rolex dealer regularly for 2 years...

That's one of my watches. They are extremely easy to get . . . provided that you do not try to buy them in the U.S. The secret is to go to an authorized rolex dealer in another country where the tastes do not match U.S. tastes (many places around the world meet this criteria). Submariners are nice too . . .
