How did I miss a ten page watch thread?? Anyway, Carrera Mike was comparing the TAG high beat chrono, saying that its 36,000 vibrations per hour was like a car revving to 75,000 rpms. Not true, most high grade watches run at 21,600 or 28,800 compared to the 36,000 of that watch. Not a huge difference, and many professional watchmakers (myself included) take into account the higher wear of such a high beat movement as a negative.

And when it comes to owning watches, it's Rolex for sport, Patek for dress, everything else is having fun.

And who owns a driving watch, meant to be worn on the side of the wrist so you don't have to take your hand off the steering wheel to see the time?

James, that's a file photo, I used to own one but moved it on. Most of the major Swiss players made them in the 20's and 30's too-Patek, Vacheron, etc. Some of them had articulated lugs, so you could wear them flat like a regular watch or on the wrist edge.

Jeff,
You can start by sourcing the watch that Freddy uploaded (post #122).

i am not familiar with this manufacturer but i will check around.
my guess is that it retails for under $500.
our specialty is competitive pricing on high grade watches, new and used.
thanks for your request.

It's that time (no pun intended) when I start looking for the "next" watch to add to the collection. After reading several positive threads regarding Panerai watches I went on the search for one, however, when I visited my local jeweler (Abouttime-Dana Point, CA) he recommended Anonimo (apparently one of the owners of Panerai that started his own brand). I'm looking at the "Militare Crono Flyback".

Anyone know this company or the reputation of their watches?
