Look at mobile.de. The cheapest there is 73K. The most expensive is Euros 99999... located at Singen and these guys have average cars selling at silly prices. (Once, I looked at a Ferrari there)

They hope to find the "sucker".
My thoughts exactly, their prices are normally overinflated eg they have a Targa 993 with 155.000 km for 42.000 is way too expensive imo. On the other hand I don't expect him to sell junk either, I'll try to find out what really happened there. BTW, was it you I saw passing our buildings some two weeks ago with a half meter sandwich. I zoomed by and I was in a hurry but I thought it was you.

No half meter sandwich for me. I am trying to maintain my girlish figure.

I think Rudy takes cars on consignment. If so, it may explain why the price was so low... an owner needing the cash

I'll say to you what my mom always told me: "yes you're unique, just like everyone else."

All I can add is that 996 prices in Chile are coming down, and 993's are stable. I bought mine for $55M 2 years ago (low mileage, 25M miles) and a few days ago they had its black on black twin at $53M (but 60M miles) at the dealer. Gone in 24 hours.

CJ, you've obviously been looking at 993TT prices. What are you seeing over the last couple months.

All, under the philosophy that one might be able to buy-drive-and sell over a couple year period without loss I;ve been thinking about upgrading to the 993TT. If I'm not going to loose then putting the extra $30K into a TT isnt a bad play as long as all your giving away is the potential 5% your cash could earn. I'd be maintaining a car anyway with my 993 so for simplicity I considermaintenance/insurance costs are a wash in the calculaton. Is this flawed(forgetting the risks of some major mechanical problem for a second and assuming I only put 3Kish a year on the car)?

AFAIK, there were 1014 RS tourings made with 107 RSCS. The number of cup cars is a bit fuzzy. As there were no real chassis numbers, no one kept close track... about 300 IIRC.

A US RS will be very difficult to find. There are some but each required lots of mods to bring to MOT std.

On the other hand, if you promise not to drive more than 2500 miles per year, you can keep it in orig state.

Think $100K by the time you are done. Euro to USD does not give you much of a break these days.

Ain't that the truth, I was looking at 997 GT3 RS price at Finnish Porsche dealer's web site and if Euro vs. USD ration was reversed (as it was few years ago), I could buy a 997 GT3 RS for $90k...

Porsche actually only made 49,218 993's in various trim WORLDWIDE!

This is also part of what makes our cars so unique and desirable

Very True, let someone else take all the new car depreciation and then enjoy with minimal cost. I had 3 years in a 964 3.6 turbo and even after insurance, rego and maint still had money left over. In very few cars can you do this.

You need to be a paying Rennlist Member to have a sig show up. If you are one, just PM Jenn to update the forum software to reflect it properly.

It sounds fine, but if I were you, I'd add up the cost of the mileage that you're going to put on the car. In other words, if you buy one with 70,000 miles and plan to sell at 90,000 miles, check the price difference between these 2 cars selling today and assume that you will lose that price difference, if any. There is also a huge amount of depreciation on these cars in terms of mileage, not just age.
