Default How long is a corner balance good for?

Hi,

I did a complete alignmnet and corner weight balance about 2 years ago. No accidents or hard bumps since then.

I am getting new rears, to be mounted at Roger Krause in Castro Valley (Mooty loves this shop). I will have them align the car. Question is do I need a corner balance as well?

Thanks for the education.

Pong,

Unless you've removed the shocks or changed ride height, you won't need to corner balance the car.

Mark,

I did not change the suspension geometry. All I did was to reset the PSS9 settings to 5s on all corners.

If you're just driving on the street, I would never bother with a corner balance anyway. But since you've done it, I'd consider the corner balance to be good for the life of the car, unless you get your ride height altered. A realignment won't affect corner balance.

EDIT: crap. Mark beat me to it.

Pong,

You're totally fine and can change the settings a zillion times a week and not have to worry about corner balancing. Spend that extra money on gas.

What happens if you ate too much and you gained about 25-50lbs.

Scott,

I do that just by breathing deeply.

They will put the car on scales first, look at the existing weight balance, before they do anything else. Hope that won't cost me $200.
