Default Euro / RoW M030 Springs marked with Purple

I just received my RoW M030 springs from but instead of it being marked brown, it seems to have a purple marking. The part numbers seem okay:

993 333 531 11 504

Any ideas? I bought them from StrasseUSA.com

TIA

Bill, what is the difference in ride height and spring rate for M030 vs. M033 vs standard M032?

Cool Always check www.p-car.com!!!

Up on www.p-car.com you will find:

Factory springs part numbers:

M030 ROW front: 965.343.531.01 (orange/green dots)
M030 ROW rear: 993.333.531.11 (brown dots)

M030 USA front: 964.343.531.12 (orange dots)
M030 USA rear: 993.333.531.13 (light blue dots)

Note the 993TT rear spring is extra tall to compensate for the extra weight of the car...but the compression rate is still 300 Lbs/in. I know, I personally measured them.

Martin,
I installed the ROW turbo springs on my C4S: the fronts are identical to the M030, and the rears are marked with two red stripes ...
Their free heights were 290mm with 7.25 coils of 13.7mm diameter wire - Any idea how much that differs from the ROW M030 rears ( brown stripes)? .

The original rears on my car still remain a mystery: they are 320mm with 8 coils of 14mm wire and marked by three green stripes. The p/n 993 317 209 6 HVS is stamped on them ... any clues? The normal US spec rears I pulled from the parts car are 350mm x 8.25 coils of 13mm wire and two yellow marks.

Sorry for the hijack Jonathan - just more spring talk ..

Look for a post from "geolab" apx 2 weeks ago. I think he had several diff. markings listed there.

I got my RoW M030's from Gert and believe mine to be Ft: (2) green, (1) brown; Rear: (2) brown. I checked them after they were installed on the car so I might need to confirm those markings.

Edit: after looking at Bill V's post w/ photos it looks like orange and brown are real close in appearance. So...

Edit #2: I don't know how to link to another thread but the title of the thread from "geolab" is called "M030 Facts I did not know".

Bill,
Thanks for the info!! I guess those guys shipped me the std instead of the m030. Lilac and violet?! ..call me colorblind but they seem awfully similar... I don't know if they were trying to be tricky (aka rip me off) or just overlooked the colors even though I specifically read them off the part numbers and colors I got from p-car.com but the labels had the right part numbers. Uggh.. should have just bought them from Gert like my other parts!

No problem.. at least you were aware.. As long as I've been on this site, suspension has always been a hot topic.. over and over again...so no worries.

M033 springs (constant spring rate like that on stock US 993s, lowered ride height)
M030 ROW springs (progressive spring rate (a bit firmer), lowered ride height)
M030 US springs (progressive spring rate (a bit firmer), higher ride height)
