Default DACH CAT X-pipes (GROUP BUY)

OK i'm hoping to put together a group buy for the Dach X Pipes. We need at least 5 others to join in for the pricing below.

Specifics:

- DACH CAT X-pipes

- The cats are 200 cell sport cats made by www.metalcat.com.au

- Weight savings is about 12lbs over existing stock system.

Price: $1275
Shipping: It is oversized and depends on where but assume around $55 for the west coast, east coast will be a bit cheaper.
Paypal: If you pay via paypal tack on the paypal commission ~3%
Timing: ASAP - will close when Chris places his next order.

I'll just play the organizer. You'll pay Chris directly for this work of art...

Cheers,
Boris

Sounds like a really good price for sport cats. I'm interested. You're probably referring to this setup, which appears to be brand new:

Clicky

The merge in the pipes clearly doesn't hurt catless pipes (see recent dyno test), but throw in more flow restriction after the merge and it's anybody's guess what'll happen. I'd love to see a before/after dyno test.

Boy you are Johny on the spot with that link

If you look at the #'s that Metal Cat puts out, I think with the flow rate of their 200 vs others 100 cell, the "restriction" will probably result in higher torque. The X-pipe by passes are good for 20 +/- hp, I think my torque will come from a smaller pipe size on those, but in lue of that size, the cats should provide enough resistance to do the trick......certainly won't hurt power #'s

bump!

let's go guys. we need responses by monday.

2 more buyers for the x-bypass and 2 more for the cat system in order to get the gb price. we can save a good amount of $ with the gb price.

if you need more convincing, check out the dyno results and discussion from harvey in this post: DACH By-Pass Pipes: Dyno Results

Does anyone know if there is any weight savings w/this setup vs the stock cats and pipes? I'm thinking of swapping out my Supercups for RSRs but not happy that I would be adding weight back on.

Thanks!

Any chance somebody might do a before/after dyno test? Or even a few timed 3rd gear runs before & after would be useful. I'm going to be thinking about these pipes in the spring.

I am most definitely going to test them assuming we can get enough people in the group buy in. I will then ask chris if I can publish the results. I suspect the torque curve to be better with the added back pressure of the 200 cell cats but I may not are the 20 ponies. In any case if I get a set I will do the before and after

20 bhp is a significant gain in these cars, as we know - i did not realize that removing the stock cats could yield such a gain.
