Default maintaining super lower miles

i've got a 97' 993 with some wicked low miles. bot it specifically to collect, maintain and have done a fair amount of reseach about best ways to infact maintain with putting on minimal miles.

i'd love to know if guys up here have some even better ideas, tips, tricks, nuggest of info that might share , or just thoughts on the matter...bottom line, trying to maintain this thing, preserve it as perfectly as possible with putting on the lowest # of miles that i can.

the car was from RPM, a perfect artic/black turbo s with 634 miles on it after a 9 miles jaunt yesterday to get stuff moving around.
things like seals, hoses, rubber drying out.
leather
paint/finish
wheels, roundness
exhaust, humidity
any and all ideas and suggestions are welcome....

responding in advance to those who would argue they should be driven: i know, i get it..i have pcars to drive. this one is to maintain. prior owner had it for 10 years did about 60 miles / year. wild. and he did an answome job maintaining it. i want to do as well, or better.

When you run/drive it, you need to do it longer than 9 miles (if you didn't do a long warmup).
Thing being when ever you run the engine, it's better to do it at least long enough to get the thermostat to open. When you run long enough, huminity inside the engine & exhaust gets burned off.
These air cooled engines take long time to properly warm up.
Tyres should be overinflated of course and for all the rubber etc. you need to use preservatives to keep them in shape.

I agree with Finn 100%. When you do drive it, at least 30 minutes...it is then just a question of how often.

A car air capsule is the next best thing to having the car vacumed bagged.

No afiliation...have a friend that uses one...

Default to the OP if you get the answer from the previous owner please sare the info.

What do you folks think. If you warm the car up fro 20minutes and drive it for
634 miles. Give me your contact info. If you selling it in 10 years I like to know about it.

10 minues that would seem to me that you will get all the parts warmed up without putting on a lot of miles. What does the rest of the forum think?

Also I would also jog the engine before full starting it if I have not drive the car for a while. What I mean by joging. Turn the key on when you hear the enginin turning and then turn the key to the off position, do this a few times. This will get the oil pumping up to the lifters before fulling starting. I have been using this method for years and especially after an oil change on my previous cars. I notice that I will not hear clicking from the lifters if you use this method expecially if the car have been sitting a while.

I think I will use this method on my the 993 I just got too.

Use this at your own risk. I did not get his from anyone. It just makes sense to me. But then again I am an engineer. Not really qualify to really drive a 993 but qualify to design one.

Default correction on my posting.

the first paragraph should read.

634 miles. Give me you contact info. I will like to know if you are selling i in 10 years.

What do you folks think. I would think warming the car for 20 minutes and driving it for 10 miles will get all the parts warm up with out putting to many files on the car.

anyone have any experience with these capsules..? just fo this particular car, it might be interesting...maybe....

anyone else have any experience in jogging the start/ignition..?

Take it apart (well the engine that is.. ) Have it disassembled and stored or rebuilt dry. Drain all the fluids.. park it.. and put all back together every 10 years for a 200m drive.. rinse repeat

Better way to do this is to take out the DME relay and crank until the oil pressure goes up. Then put the DME back and start. I do this after the oil changes.

X2... drive at least 30 miles each time.

Step one: Fully encase in acrylic resin.
Step two: using crane, lower onto front lawn as sculpture.
Step three: pass it on for generations!
