Default Well, I did it. Ordered a Bend-Pak lift today....

I ordered all the parts for my 90K mile major service from Sunset today, then ordered this:

My wife's going to be happier than I am when it arrives - I'll stop talking to her about it, and will be in the garage playing with it.

You will be surprised by how rock solid these lifts are, the pictures make them look top heavy.

Congrats! That's a nice lift - I'm considering one myself. Where did you purchase?

You didn't ask me but I got mine from
http://www.asedeals.com/mid_rise_lift.html

It was as advertised and order/delivery were fine, no issues. Do a search here on Rennlist, there are issues to consider re: delivery unless you have a forklift at your house.

Agree completely on the stability comment.
I have torqued a bolt to 150lb on that thing and it was solid as a rock.

Got mine via same supplier as Bill W.

I ordered from asedeals as well, based on reputation from the 911 crowd, and good prices.

I agonized about which model to get for over 3 months. I was THIS close to getting a low-rise lift because it has the wider base. I was very concerned about stability, and the narrow base on the scissor lift worried me. But engine drops would be tough with the low-rise, and it was an expensive way to get the car up not much higher than jackstands do.

In the end, I'm relying on all the good word of mouth about the scissor lift (and I couldn't find one story about how the 911 fell over when someone cranked a bolt....).

Thanks BillW & Colin - I'll check them out. I can't image stability as an issue since total weight of the lift + 993 is over 4,000 lbs.

Pstraub, why didn't you run the supply line through the hole in the outter frame?

I originally tried that hole for the supply line. On my lift, as I raised the platform, it would put a real hard kink in the line as the lift went up and down. So I changed it to where it is in the photo, much better. I still had to cut off a small piece of the corner brace with my dremel tool. They all seem to be a little different but most of the photos I have seen are not routed through the hole in the outer frame. Paul
