pstraub,

Where did you get the ramps at the start of the boards? What are they made out of?

Nice toy! What height do you need in your garage to lift a 993 ?

nice! Can I see an UNDERSIDE photo from when it's on the lift (bottom up)

I'm curious to see how much it covers up under the car (IE is the trans area covered or is it accessable?)

I'm thinking this would be ideal for my dad's garage to be able to service all the cars including my R32!

..now I'd just have to talk my dad into buying it since I'm broke right now.. lol ..

I can probably sweet talk him into it as 'something to keep him busy when he retires in Feb.. hahaha'

ooooo Let me know if you find out!

I just got off the phone with my dad and he's open to the idea of buying one to tinker on the cars (and let me do oil changes and such to my cars)

I had a local welder make them out of diamond plate steel, re-inforced underneath by some angle-iron. 24" long, 3" rise, 12" wide. Then I just painted them black like the platform.

What height do you need in your garage to lift a 993 ?
I only have a 10' ceiling and I can lift the car all the way to the top lift position, approx 53" off the ground with plenty of room to spare to the ceiling. Now if you had a tall SUV, that would get tight.

Colin, Make sure you are prepared to unload the lift. It is very heavy. I went and picked mine up, they put it in the bed of my truck with a forklift. It was at that time I knew I was introuble as to how to get it out. I rented an engine hoist and that did the trick. They are not to easy to roll around like they advertise.

The steel diamond plates are nice, I just angle cut my boards. may have to upgrade to this. Thanks for the idea pstraub.

You can also pay a little extra for a lift gate truck delivery.... think it was $150? Can't recall.

I'm getting a UHaul truck to pick it up at the Yellow freight dock - liftgate residential delivery would have been $150 more. I've got access to an engine hoist and a 2000lb lifting table at home. Hopefully it will be doable.

I'll get a pizza, have some people over to eat, then say, "by the way guys, can you help me with something in the garage?"

EDIT - for those wondering, asedeals' "sale" price when you call on the scissor lift is $1410. Low-rise is $1717.

Depending on your ride height some fiddling w/ the ramps will be needed. I prefer wider ramps w/ a work area.

At RoW M030 ride height the white plywood wasn't necessary on mine, at Cup car race height it's needed to ooch the brake scoops over the arms.

BendPak makes awesome lifts - you'll love it undoutedly

I need a lift not only to work on the baby, but also for storage - I just ordered the HD-9ST from BendPak (the 4-poster) - should be here in a couple of weeks.

Yeah, so I'm trying to find out about how to get it unloaded off the flat bed - the carrier doesn't have a lift truck or crane.

Good luck on the install and congrats.
