Default Sport Package on 993

Is there a grouping of options called "Sport package" on the 1998 C2 ?

I've never heard of a "sport package" per se. But perhaps you're confused by the "C2S" designation on the car... In this case the "S" indicates a "wide-body" model. To this, a new car buyer could add various options, such as the "big red" (turbo) brakes, or the Aero kits. There was a great option for Sport Seats, which was a very minor, if any cost when new and worth major $$$ in the aftermarket,

BTW, in 1998, all the coupes were "S" models... there really was no C2 except for the cab or targa. The C2S is very highly sought after. Post more details for better info.

No. And there were no C2 models available in 1998.

the option codes for your car can be determined by using this decoder

http://www.kindel.com/porsche/options.asp

the option codes are listed on a sticker which (on my car) is located on the underside of the front hood and in the maintenance service record manual

Perhaps she was referring to M030 - Sport Chassis? A package of shocks, springs and sway bars.

Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM). I don't think that came out until the 2005 models, didn't it? I don't think that was around in the 993's. I may be mistaken though.

Cabs are not "S"'s. (except a rumored handful that a California dealer had made.)

There have been quite of few errors on COA's. Some of the errors are wildly off. (Wrong year by almost 10 years, wrong model, colors that weren't even available on the model/year, etc.)

The sticker under the trunk hood has all the option codes and it IS accurate.

I was on the phone with PCNA today and they mentioned a database problem with the CoA. Apparently Porsche "reused" older option codes, and that generated inaccurate CoA for some late model 911 (including 993; my CoA said I had a "Club Coupe Spec" cabriolet!!). If there's any doubt about the CoA, it's a good idea to verify the CoA against the option codes list on the vehicle sticker, and then call PCNA to request a corrected version.

Porsche option #030 is the sports suspension group.
I don't know what it includes.
