There is a long list that would disagree w/ you there.

Lets start w/
Porsche factory on 993RS, 993Cup, and 993tt
we will leave the middle out and end w/ me.

For every day driving, no they are not worth it, if you can feel the difference you are one ultra sensitive individual.

That's because you don't have RS gears
here is a simplified comparison of some of the gearing options.

The 993tt and 993C4S have exactly the same mechanical components, electro-hydraulicly boosted 25.4mm m/c, 322x32 and 322x28mm rotors, 36/44 Big Red front calipers, 28/28 rear calipers.

Hi Bill,

I believe the gears are different on the 993 throughout the production years in order to meet some noise limits on the streets... Would you know what are these differences? I guess 97 and 98 models received longer gears than 95 or 96 cars...

All US and Swiss models had the G50/20 gearbox. ROW had G50/21 initially, then towards the end, the G50/20 as well.

Gear..US/Swiss......Rest of the World ......
______(G50/20)________(G50/21)__________
1.......3.818..................3.818...................
2.......2.048..................2.150....................
3.......1.407..................1.560....................
4.......1.118..................1.242....................
5....... 0.962.................1.027....................
6........0.775.................0.820....................

Final ratio 3.44:1

Is there a way to be sure what type of gearbox do I have? If G50/20 or G50/21?

Look in your owner's manual for the gear ratios.
