Default Front End Road Rash

I thought I'd give me car a little cosmetic help as I don't want to spend the cash 'just yet' on getting the front end repainted, and thinking of a different front lip then the 's' lip. Anyway after washing the car and giving the front upper and lower bumper a thorough cleaning I decided to touch up some of the paint chips (there were many), I did the top half of the bumper w/ the touch up paint, waited a few hours and used Langka paint blob remover.
The result was amazing. So I decided to do some of the lower paint nicks w/o going to crazy. The result was like night and day. I would say this improved the appearance dramatically.
So if you are looking to do a 'hold me over' touch up on the front end, and its not sand blasted, try this out.

I just took a look at the site and for the life of me can't figure out what this product does or how it does it.
Can you describe it for me and how you use it?
Thanks; my track car could use some attention this winter.

Sure.

If you have a scratch, stone chip (or two!) then you CAN repair it/them *without* resorting to spray-painting or the like.

All you need is a bottle of (matching) touch-up paint and the "Langka system".

The "Langka system" essentially consists of:

1) You clean/prep the 'scratch'
2) You put a 'blob' of touch-up paint on the scratch -- NOT WORRYING IF YOU GO BEYOND THE EDGE OF THE SCRATCH AREA -- AND NOT WORRYING IF THE BLOB IS JUST THAT -- A BLOB.
3) You wait for this blob of paint to dry (30 mins to 12 hrs - you decide)
4) You take a lint-free cloth and using the 'credit-card' sized piece of plastic (provided in the kit) - you form an 'edge'.
5) You place some of the "blob remover' liquid on this 'edge'.
6) You 'shave' the blob and any excess paint away so that you are just left with paint that fills the scratch.

The 'blob remover' liquid exploits the chemistry of the touch-up paint in that it will ONLY remove the touch-up paint and NOT the factory-applied paint/clear-coat.

In my experience you need to "blob and remove" about 3 times (sometimes more if you're as much as a perfectionist as moi) before you end up with a repair that's not noticeable - i.e. doesn't have a 'dip' in it or is "proud" of the surrounding paintwork.

This stuff works, fellas, trust me.

This looks like good stuff and they ship internationally too

but do you know if it can 'repair' a previously touched up chip that hasn't been done well? I've got a couple where the paint sits proud of the surface, like a blob really.

I had a few sloppy attempts from PO. And to my surprise it cleaned them up.
I really should have done a before and after comparison, but I got so caught up in it, I forgot.
You can do some nice work if you really take your time. It's not a substitute to a front end respray, but I nice inbetween to hold you over.

I've been using the Langka system on my Iris Blue 993. After a bit of practice it is virtually impossible to detect the repair. My car (105,000 miles+) had a lot of stone chips above the side foils on the rear quarters (at least 20 per side). You would be hard pressed to find them now. Similarly the front apron and the top scuttle had a few deep chips that took several attempts to fill and form a projecting blob. I found that Iris Blue (of all the colours of cars that I've owned) has proved the best colour for invisible repairs. A metallic that actually matches!
Even old repairs can be smoothed down but when the touch-up has truly hardened they take quite an effort to rub down - might be easier to start again. I even repaired a finger nail sized lump taken out of the wing mirror. Sadly, I'm not on a retainer for the Langa Corporation ;-(

Just wait for a stone to hit the previously repaired chip.

If you have a panel that has been re-sprayed in the past, do you think the Langka might damage the resprayed paint as well as the blob?
