Default Recaro Sportster CS Update

I've been looking at these since the beginning of the year - I know that there were a couple of threads on the subject. Anyway, I've been talking to a dealer in California who says that he's expecting them in at the end of October.

Pricing is $1299 for cloth to $1699 for leather.

I've been challenged trying to find an aftermarket seat that:

1. FITS without needing pliers to adjust the recline
2. Has a seatback that can be moved forward to allow for ingress/egress of my little ones in the back seat
3. Is light
4. Allows me wear a helmet without having me to lean over like I'm trying to look up a .... well, you get the point

Not sure if these will fit nicely yet since they do have ***** on them as well.

Holy Moly! So this is where Audi got their RS4 seats from...

That vertical bit for the head rest looks a bit weird...

but definitely a hot seat.

Those look a lot like my A8s.

Not priced too bad either. Would love to see how these fit in a 993. Not crazy about the headrest, but it might look better once it's in the car.

i will wait another month to see how these will look b4 getting my seats... need to find a showroom to sit in 'em too. i think they look sweet esp. for a more practical solution to great support. i think the lines will match w/ the 993 interior very nicely too.

enrico ~ any shots of the rear?

thx for the post.

Sure - here's a thread showing a pic of the rear - it looks great in the back:

I am also very interested in these seats, however i just placed a Recaro A8 into driver side and will see how i like it first. It really does seem to hold you in place well.

Based on your criteria, you might also want to look at the cobra misano. You can get specs and see pics by searching the forum. Just another option...

Yes, they are absolutely gorgeous seats. Actually, a little more history may help here...

I did try to install Sparco Milano Prestige seats in the car and they just wouldn't fit - I'd have to cut off the **** on the inside, and the outside rubs against the outside well when moved back. I was really goo-goo about the Misano seats - but after the experience with the Milano's I can say that the dimensions are pretty close to the same. When I spoke with Sube Sports (distributor for the Misano's) they said that there was a 20% return fee if I didn't want the seats - so I have no way to try them.

The Sportster is about 1 to 2 inches narrower so it may be ok.

In fact, one of the other seats I looked at was by Koenig (http://www.koenig-sitze.de). The problem is their size as well - I think it'd be a tight fit. Here are a couple of pics:

Those are the Koenig that VW R32 seats are based off of...and while the R32 items are modified for air-bags and such, the seats are rather bulky...i would guess too much so for the small confines of a 993.

1600 in leather? seems rather reasonable for a CF-backed seat.

Does anyone know who makes these Ruf seats now?

Hasn't Koenig always supplied Ruf seats?

I seem to recall the guys at Ruf telling me the seats are made by Recaro for Ruf through special order - but then again my memory isn't always the greatest . They're also not very light - about as much as the standard p-car seats - but, then again, when you have a 582bhp p-car you can afford to carry a little more weight around the waistline

If you look at the seat cushion shape, only Koenig uses that shape side bolsters.
