Adam's C4s "RUF"

993 James. what you describe is pretty common place all over the internet, in chat rooms and web boards. Some people just can’t handle the anonymity of the internet and they act out like a child who knows he can throw stones and hide behind the teacher. There is so shortage of scammers and name callers and braggarts on the internet. No offense to anyone here please, I usually find this place free of that sort of crap.

Adam Good Luck ! Beautiful car ! I hope it finds it's way into the hands of someone who was as passionate as you were. Sorry to see you go.

I don't give a rat's *** if you put a McLaren F1 badge on your car (well I would laugh at the off the chart cheese factor), but don't list it for sale as such....which would leave one to believe you are trying to sell something that is not....which then would be deceptive. I know the buyer would have to be an idiot to buy it, but they are out there....more reading autotrader than rennlist I would guess.
"RUF C4S OFFICALLY FOR SALE" should read something like "C4S with Ruf badge, steering wheel, and strut brace".
I don't see the problem with pointing this out and don't see it as cruel or an attack. I see it as calling out someone who is representing and selling something different than it actually is. I don't care if he is 21 and paid cash. It's fine to put Ruf badges on your car and call it a Ruf (which I don't understand either, but whatever), but something else to advertise it as a Ruf.

I first met Adam when I purchased an item on Ebay from him. He was definitly stoked about his car, and his planned mods.
I've talked to him a couple of times since then, and he is an OK guy. Young, sure, but hell, we all were at one time. He has taken a bashing on here, and it did take me by surprise as I did not expect it. Lord, if you want to see real bashing go to gixxer.com and those types of sites. You get treated like crap and called out if your version of tire is last weeks, not the one that came out yesterday. It's really ridiculous. I kinda look foward to this place as a refuge, where cooler heads and maturity prevail.
Oh well, we all slip from time to time, and are passionate about our beliefs. Just look at this as one of those hard knock life lessons Adam, learn from it and move on. Again, good luck.

You have to admit, the car is very nice looking in the images.

It seems quite sad to me that all this has been over a couple of RUF badges - and the importance that those little badges make to some people. [Not just this thread, but all the others as well.] There is no doubt that the car, without a RUF VIN is not a RUF, and any claims that it is, are false.
I think it looks pretty cool with the RUF parts.
I'd also like to thank Adam for sending me the direction of Marcus Buhler as a source for OEM CF interior parts at a fabulous price.
Everyone here on Rennlist has their own view as to what makes a Porsche 993 "the car" for them, be it tracking, daily driving, garage queen, concours object, etc.
