Default Dead Rabbit

So...how long will my Energizer Bunny Last?

I just took a job where my daily commute is 100miles (I'll be moving in Jan!!). Anyway, not wanting to put those miles on my P-car, I've put her in a garage in the Tahoe house. I plan on going to get her in a couple/few weeks. Question is, should I have my uncle go by there once a week and take her for a spin so the battery doesn't die. It's also starting to get cold there at night, which I imagine doesn't help.

Question: How long does the battery last?

FWIW - Its a daily driver.

"Dead rabbit" has a very specific connotation, actually. If you are not married... you might not understand.

But to many a dead rabbit means the end of the 993 ownership.

I too misunderstood the dead rabbit title. I have left my 993 for up to 17 days and it started right up. Garaged in a temperate climate. Might have been able to go even longer, don't know.

Energizer Bunny + Dead Battery = Dead Rabbit

Maybe it's just a bad title! Sorry.

Install a battery kill switch. I have them on my Bronco and Porsche and it does a couple of things. Saves on the battery and an additional security device.

Bummer on the 100 mile daily commutte. I have been working out of the house for 10 years and dont think I could ever commutte again. I had a 1hr commutte for about 3 months living in the Bay and HATED IT WITH A PASSION. Two hours of wasted life every day in a car is something I cant handle but its just a fact of life for a lot of people. I have been in the video conferencing business for almost 8 years so technology has reduced my time spend in cars and planes.

Ahhhh....Fatal Atraction....I see (says the blind man! )

95 C4 993: Nice pup. As a former Bay Area guy you can appreciate the agony. Beginning Monday I will be commuting to/from Fremont to Marin (Larkspur) every day. 48 miles each way (I think!). I'll have owned my condo for 2 years on November so I can relocate after that (cap gains exemption). Until then, Papa's rollin' in a '94 Jeep Cherokee - Grand Cherokee?? No, base Cherokee. 5 speed (jerky as sh*t!), manual windows, etc. I've got a good feeling this commute is gonna SUCK! But oh, well, there's certainly worse things. My farewell (at least for a few weeks) drive in the Porsche up to Tahoe was a fun one, believe me!!!

What James said :-)

Fatal Attraction kinda played on that angle, I'm not sure how many people picked that reference up.

Obchuck, get a 110 volt battery maintainer for $50, never have to worry and all the electronic components in the car stay energized without killing the battery. Besides, do you really want your uncle to take it for a spin. Not worth the risk of doing some damage to the car if not familar with it like upshifting from 3rd to 4th which can easily slip into 2nd if not used to the close gears.

No "last toy", I'd prefer my uncle not to drive!!! Actually, he's quite mechanical and would be fine (I think!) If it ends up I have to leave it up there, the charger sounds like a solid investment.

Battery Maintainer $39.95 Pep Boys, Sears, Autozone. Far better than letting your uncle take it for a spin once a week, Trust me on that one! Chris

I was once told that a dead rabbit meant a wedding in the near future!
