No, base Cherokee. 5 speed (jerky as sh*t!), manual windows, etc. I've got a good feeling this commute is gonna SUCK! But oh, well, there's certainly worse things. My farewell (at least for a few weeks) drive in the Porsche up to Tahoe was a fun one, believe me!!!

Now that it snowed here yesterday and today (few inches in the mountains) Im getting my itch to ski during lunch. I take that 20 minute commute from my home office to the slopes any day!

95C4 993: On my way back from Truckee yesterday, it was actually SNOWING going over the summit!!! Of course it wasn't sticking but still, it's mid September! I've heard acorns are falling early this year, predicting an early winter...we'll see...

I once left the keys to a Corvette with a family memeber while I was out of town for a week. I dont think that car stopped moving the whole week. I did not have to worry about my battery, but the rest of the car took a beating. ( I found this out years later from a mutual friend)

The dead rabbit does not always spell the end of Porsche ownership. Last week a friend A. found out he was going to be a dad agian(#7) B. celebrated his 20th wedding anniversary, and C. wrote me a check for the Boxster and drove off with a big grin on his face. How was your week?

my daily commute is 90 miles (round trip). i wouldn't think of doing it anything but my 993. t actually gives me something to look forward to on my commute. try it in your 993; it is 2 hours a day you know you will be smiling :-) these cars were meant to be driven and the more they are exercised they happier they are i think.

Depends on the commute. My last commute in the '87 Cab was 25 miles each way. About 15 minutes for the first 15 miles and at least 30 minutes for the last 10 miles.

Mborkow: If I was smarter I'd of bought a higher mileage 993 instead of paying more for a 26K gem. Now I get concerned about the mileage. I couldn't agree w/you more. The 3 hour drive up to Tahoe in the P-car was a complete joy, the 3 hour drive back in the '94 Jeep was just that - a 3 hour drive! 
And you're right that they should be driven, I'm just too much of a $$$ scrooge to take the depreciation hit. It shouldn't matter if I'm going to keep it for 10 years, I'm just not sure about that yet though....

Well, actually I'll try the reverse: If I can't stand the Jeep, I'm going back to the P-Car. "Your car, your miles, use 'em!" - Now THAT'S a great way to look at it!!

FWIW - I wouldn't worry much about two weeks between drives... not so long as you have a decent battery anyway (mine's an Optima red-top). I too commute about 100 miles a day and am not willing to put that many miles on the P-car... Not that I ever intend to sell it, cause I don't! 
It just doesn't seem right to rack up that many basically highway miles on such a beautiful car... Thus my Jetta GLI 2.0T, which is a great daily driver!
Anyway... back to subject. I often go two or even three weeks between starts and my P-car has survived this treatment just fine for more than 4 years now... A battery tender couldn't hurt, but it probably isn't necessary.
Please no flames... I love my P-car! I just prefer to find nice curvy roads for the miles I put on her!
