My issue is that even it if only put a few miles on it, there would already be resale problems if my plans change.

Anyone heard of Westside Motorsports? I know they've specialized in 911s "for the working man" for years, as opposed to TruSpeed Motorworks Newport Bea..I mean "Costa Mesa" boutique, although they have nice stuff. Seems like you can do a lot worse than buying from a mechanic, though...

A German mechanic once told me that German built engines perform better after 60k miles. Not sure if that is true but I believe him. I've owned mostly german cars except for a lexus and they just seem to get better after 60k assuming of course you are deligent about scheduled maintenace. This one looks pretty nice. You won't be able to avoid usual maintenace issues like clutch, blowers, compressors with any Porsche after 60k. But some members have exceeded these usual service requirements by many miles.

mine has 107K, bought it 92K and it has been a wonderful car. Buy it "right", drive it the way it needs to be and don't worry about resale.

I just bought mine 2 months ago with 86K miles and it's fine. It's more important to get a history and a set of records for the car. 75K is nothing for a well maintained Porsche

mine has 110k miles and the engine is stronger then many with 40k never had top end work done only thing is syncro is getting a bit tired and replacing it will also be my excuse this winter to do some other mods like lwf otherwise very happy . I belive thr reason the engine is so good is 1) heat shield is off 2) the motor was run at high rev more then low rev . 3) good engine maintance with regular oil change . I use only 6100 synergie Motul sae15w50 oil

Although mine is just past 61K miles, I never hesitated when I bought it at 57K miles. I won't consider it any worse off when it gets to 75K...

I think it depends on what you intend to do with this car. At 75k I would think that this car should be bought intending to be used as a daily driver, or driven without remorse. Unless you hardly drive it you will be quickly approaching 100k miles, in many people's minds a threshold beyond which they may not be looking to buy. I bought my car with 78k, and have put on 6k miles in 6 months. I paid 39k for a 1996 C4S with a new clutch in good shape with records. It was also the color I was looking for. The same car with half the miles would probably cost $10k more. If you intend to keep this car a few years and not drive it much, paying more now for a lower mileage example which you can then resell, still at a premium, probably makes more sense. Having owned and driven this car for 6 months, I don't think I would want to own and NOT drive it. Good luck in your search...

I live down the street from these guys...run away! I will try and have a look for you..But really these guys are VERY shady. Take a look at the classifieds or wait around some very nice cars have been put on the market lately.

I just turned over 75k last weekend at the track and have no desire or plans to ever get rid of my ride. I drive it every day and take it to the track for DE and Club Racing events. These cars will last for a long time and are meant to be driven so find what you want and I wouldn't worry so much about the mileage.

I think that price is VERY steep for what you are getting. I purchased a car 2 years ago with a significant number of modifications already done to it for about the same money and with about 30K less miles on it. Granted, the car never was advertised, seller was motivated, and was a lead from a mutual mechanic. Call all the P-car mechanics you can find. THAT is the way to get a deal before the car ever officially goes on the market or on autotrader, cars.com etc.
