After 3 months of spending money and being frustrated with other people working on my car, I am about finished. The only thing left to do is a good polish and wax. I need to wait until September according to the paint shop. The following are the improvements made:
-Front end was repainted
-GHL exhaust
-Clear Bra
-Clear signals
-18" HRE rims with PS2 tires
-All new lights in the front
I plan on detailing the car during Labor day weekend, I will post more photo's.
I replaced my headlight lenses, want to find some clear turn signal lenses, but my driving lights lenses are a bit yellowed. I was going to try some plexus (plastic cleaner) to see if that helps. If not, what do the driving lights cost to replace?
I told myself I would not do any more mods for some time. I have spent enough money, time and frustration to get to this point. The car was painted from the doors forward and the mirrors. Yes, the lights are standard.
Do you have stock shocks? They may be shot by this point. I wasn't a real believer that the stock monroes could be shot as early as 30k to 50k miles but mine were toast at about 60k.
The usual route to lower the 993 is along the lines of Bilstein HDs paired with Porsche Euro M030 springs/HR/Eibach or PSS9s. If you are a racer/DE type there are more serious setups like JIC.
Your car could use a bit of lowering IMHO but then again we are all a bit over the top here.
You people are brutal. Let the man enjoy his current crop of mods. ( Of course their are many here who would classify lowering a 993 as a "repair", rather than a mod...)
I would say its more of a safety thing. More HP could be argued that way also. It goes something like this "honey, you never know when I might need to get one of the kids to a hospital really fast" or something like that.
