Matt, which lift are you looking at? I ultimately would like a mid rise two post on one side and a four post on the other.
Here is the link https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...age-is-up.html

I was hoping to get the Bendpak HD9 (std width/std height) in 230v with the pneumatic/hydraulic sliding bridge jack.

Here's the current garage; nothing fancy:

The plan is to add a 12 foot extension into the space where the Subaru is, in this picture:

I've been procrastinating on this, because, while there's lots of room, I really don't want to cut into our green space; it's really nice here in the summer. The view from our rear patio:

But I delivered sketches to our contractor a couple of days ago, and we're going to get it done. I want to be able to keep the 993 here over the winter, and have it in a secure bay of its own.

Hey Matt, I've actually followed your progress, and probablyPM'd you with questions. You have a very nice garage. I think I may have asked you about the Hardiplank siding. I'm going to use the same siding on my building. How big is your door?

Rinty, I would think that an addition would give you more privacy. In my case that will be a nice benefit: the garage will create a courtyard and give us much more privacy than we currently have.

Gasser, your place sound exactly like what I hope to have when I finish. My son lives nearby and drives a 964. There are a whole list of mods we are planning once we have a place to work.

i didn't have this garage built, but it was one of the main reasons why i bought the house a couple years ago. i have a 3-car attached-to-the-house garage and this separate, oversized 2-car garage seen here. it's a just under 900 sq/ft, plenty deep and high ceilings. i keep both porsches in there, my 60" ZTR toro, yard cart, landscaping stuff, snowblower, etc.

i plan to build a separate landscaping project/gardening shed for all the mower and yard stuff soon so i can make this my "porsche garage". new epoxy floor drywall and insulation, heat, lift, flatscreen with a couple chairs........too bad wifey wants new wood floors this spring.

The siding is just vinyl. The big door is 16x8. Thanks.

True, but I like to have clear sightlines from the rear lane to the back door, to "discourage" intruders who might be inclined to kick in the door. Our previous home had entrances that were completely treed in, and we had 2 door kickers get in.

James,

Not a custom-built situation, but I am helping a Rennlister remodel his home and enlarge his family space. This dictates taking some room from the garage. I laid out a 993 in the parking space and worked the rest of the floor plans off that. Hope to see the end results in a few months.

All digits crossed hoping it will work out. Also best wishes on your garage project.

I like the one with the vintage Ferrari's.

I have Phil Berg's book "Ultimate Garages", which has some nice ones.

So here's a question. If a standard 2 car garage is 24'x24' how many feet would you have to add to the length in order to store a 3rd car parked width wise? Another 10'?

34' total width is ample. Key question is: what is the existing garage door(s) lay-out? One or two doors? etc.
