After many years of wrenching in a tiny single garage I finally built my dream garage (okay - it's a little bigger in my dream). The guys put it up in 2 days.
It's a modest 24x26 with 9 foot side walls and an 11 foot tray type ceiling. I also added 6 feet of attic trusses for storage. I hope to put a 4 post lift in before spring. Electrical, heating, drywall, etc. to be done in the next few months. More pics on Garage Journal.com

Matt:
Congratulations, and just in time for your Edmonton winter. Do you have enough room for the stroker, too?
One of my clients was supposed to start my one bay extension right away, but he's not moving, so it looks like I'll be having to find storage for my coupe.

Thanks guys.
I've got lots of plans although I haven't picked out cabinets, work benches or tool boxes quite yet. I think I'll put in 8 feet of work bench and a big cabinet for paints and cleaners. A row of upper cabinets and a variety of other storage devices will be required. Those suspended storage units look like they would be useful for one or two of the corners.
I've got a 45,000 btu Hot Dawg heater picked out and the gas line is already run. Unfortunately this will be one of the last things to be operational so I have to get moving before winter sets in although I do have a portable 55,000 btu propane heater if I need it.
The panel is ready to put in and it will be feeding the house panel as a sub. i still need to install the mast for the overhead lines and a second mast for the phone lines. All of the underground lines and conduit have already been installed. I'll have 230 V in the garage for the lift and a welding outlet. I'll put in a wack of outlets on the working side of the garage which will be next to the future lift.
I will get about 700 watts of the T8 fluorescent lights which should be adequate.
Next week, when the overhead door is installed, they are also installing a Liftmaster wall mounted garage door opener. These are pretty cool as they open up the ceiling area and have an electric self locking mechanism.
I'll put my compressor up in the storage attic (6x8x5) and hard pipe to a hose reel and a few wall quick connectors. Getting it up there might be a challenge.
I'm not totally decided on flooring but I think I will epoxy coat the floor. It is only about 5 weeks old so I might wait until the interior is finished and I have heat, hopefully in October.
I haven't found a good alternative to drywall yet so that is still the plan. I don't care for plywood or OSB and metal siding has gotten expensive I hear. I've got to rent one of those 11 foot drywall lifts to do the ceilings. I'm not looking forward to all of the mudding and sanding. I've done enough of it so hopefully it doesn't take too much time.

The pad had to be that high to get proper slope on the driveway to the neighbours driveway and to the alley. My yard is low. I don't know what the terminology is for this type of pad (which is the std design in this area) but it is at least 4 inches thick but substantially thicker around the perimeter I believe. It is poured all at once.

Matt:
My unheated, insulated double detached garage rarely gets below - 10 C in winter, as long as we have 2 cars going in and out, and cooling down.
But I'm not working on anything in there.![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
