Jeff, I just watched your RSR video. I noticed that when your engine approaches back to idle that there is a rattling sound. It almost sounds like a chain rattling or like marbles in a can. It happens pre- and post-RSR upgrade. I have a similar sound on my car (without upgrade) and was wondering if it is normal.
Thanks,

The previous owner installed a new clutch but I'm not sure if it is a LFW.
I hear the same sound as in Jeff's video. It only does it when the engine is warm. A local shop said that it might be a loose baffle but after watching Jeff's video with the sound happening on his car pre- and post- upgrade of mufflers, I'm not as sure now.

After having my RSRs for a couple of years, last weekend I had the LPMM bypass (https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...highlight=lpmm) done to the Gillets, and it's significantly louder (but not too loud) and deeper.
I'm also going to install a 'mod to the mod', i.e., a mechanism to vary the amount of the air that flows thru the bypass, to make it somewhat tunable.

Yep, there is a low pitch on the RSRs that no other muffler seems to have. At first my dog wouldn't ride in my 993, he must have thought the thing was on the verge of exploding. We put down a pad and he's fine. Quite a sight coming through town. Two human heads, one dog head... setting off car alarms.

The first day I drove to work with the RSRs I drove in the parking bldg and set off three car alarms on the first floor. Now I always goose it slightly on entry to ping a few alarms. Unless the Big Boss is there, getting out of his Benz, that is.

ps: I think that metallic rattling on idle down is the heat shields resonating. No apparent harm.
pps: After Robin did mine he complained that my car sounded better than his. He seemed to be of the opinion that eventually they get quieter. Maybe he'll chime in here....Robin?

The RSR on my own car actually became quieter after 9 years of service (The same set), recently I did a major tune up on the car and regained the original good sound.

For the rattling, double check that there isn't a breaking or broken rear PU bar that is now tapping on the side of the exhaust box. When this happened to me I thought it was coming from the exhaust box at first...
