I believe you will love the sound, I have a Cab and I love them, I have the factory Motorsound exhaust. The cats are the best investment I have made in the care next to the Euro transmission.
For timing I have the Andial 2 deg timing block which was 150.00 and it is not as good as a full remap but it is a great combo to the 100 cell cats.
Let us know how you like the cats.

Loads!
The standard cat weighs a ton and the Cargraphic cats are way lighter. I was able to easily carry them in a rucksack when I brought them back from the states whereas the standard cat is 10kg (about 22lb). Add that to the weight saved by using RSRs compared to nromal silencers and it's quite a lot off the back. ;-)
Cheers,
David

LAT,
What is this two degree timing block and what does it do? Presumably advances/retards timing? Why would you want to do that? Sorry if these are stupid questions.

Kennyboy, the cats weight exactly 10 lbs less than the stock unit.
David, the two degree timing block advances the timing sensor on the ring gear ahead by two degrees and the engine mapping is therefore two degrees ahead on its curve.

Caveman, here is an article on timing that I think explains the idea fairly well.
Too retarded timing will give low power, lousy emissions and excessive bore wear. Timing too advanced will cause pinging (a rattling noise usually heard on acceleration), overheating cylinder heads and other problems too scary to contemplate.
What the 2 deg timing block does is advance the timing curve within an allowable amount using readily available street gas.
If you google timing advance and retard you will get longer and more detailed explanations.

Hello,
I have a pair of FVD 100 cells cats on my 1998 TT, a factory 450HP version.
Since I have these cats, I regularly get the CEL warning, that I clear after checking the codes.
My mechanic told me that the only way to get rid of this warning is to have something changed in the ECU, (not remapping but a physical part replaced) ... is anybody aware of this ?
If I have to start playing with the ECU, I would rather get it remapped, would this solve the CEL problem to ?
Or should I just forget about it, and keep clearing the error codes ? (or get a new set of cats from elsewhere ...)
Thanks for any informations.
Alan
