Well, I am sorry to see you sell your car, but hopefully a better car is in your future.

Oh, it's a little hard to gauge a trend based on a single data point.

Or perhaps we should remember there are buyers out there w/o a "Rennlister" knowledge base and just want a great car when they see one.

there are obviously a multitude of variables that are in play all I was doing was simply sharing with my fellow 993 Rennlisters my "data point"

C4S: Thanks for providing a favorable datapoint with all the other"falling" threads that have been popping up lately.

The real question is: what are you replacing it with???? p-car?

Hi All...been out of touch for a while...good to be back. So what is your take on my selling my 98 993S w/93,200m Tip. Ocean Blu/Tan for $38000? She is a beauty! Also, if anyone has heard of FLN paint in Noth Hollywood CA...insurance is willing to redo sand pits in nose and I hear greg/Craig @ FLN is the only place do go...and he is not listed anywhere. Good to be back. Look forward to hearing your comments.

They were only offers but I have had 2 individuals offer me $50,000 for my Guards red/palmino C2S with 43,XXX miles. The car is a 6 speed. Paint is almost perfect. All service records and it's always been in Atlanta (no snow).
I paid significantly less that this.
No it is NOT for sale. What the heck would I replace it with?

Alfie from Ira Porsche (Rennlist sponsor) has told me recently that I could get at least $60K in my pocket selling mine.

That's extraordinary. I took a decently equipped CPO '04 996 C2 with less than 13K miles on a test drive today. The car is in nearly perfect condition, and the Dealer's asking price is $57.9K .My guess is that the Dealer gave the prior owner less than $50K for that car.

I'd think you'd be lucky to get $28k-$30k for a tip with high miles.

I was told by a broker recently that he could sell my car for me and might get low 60s (high 50s, minimum). Doesn't matter what he says as I wouldn't take less, but that was a real and unprompted #.

Just a data point. East Coast.

It is holding better than any other car I have owned, FWIW.

well, one sold on ebay for $35K a while back (a few months ago) with higher mileage so that isn't true either because I thought to myself if someone (more than one bidder) was willing to pay $35k for 87K mileage Tip, what could my 41k mileage Tip go for on ebay instead?

...but since I'm the original and only owner, AND just got a job again, I probably won't find that out
