Default radio comes on when key not in ignition
radio comes on when push the power button with out the key in the ignition, is this a common feature or do i have a short?

Mine ('95) does not do that. Goes off when you turn off the car.

It depends on how your power wire is connected. If it's connected to a "always hot" wire it will come one without the key.

mine also turns off when i power off the car, but the radio will turn back on after the car is off regardless of whether the key is in the ignition or not.

Yes, the radio goes off with the car, but you can turn the radio right back on after you remove the key.

Mine goes on without turning the key on like Scotts. Seems like '95-'96 might not behave the same way!! Kinda nice feature. gary
