Default Such thing as a 993 European S in the US???

I was inquiring on a car I saw that I thought looked to be a C2S. I thought there were only 4 types of 993's available: standard 993 narrow body, C2S, C4S, & Turbo....

Owner responds to my email with the following comments. Is there such thing as a European S in the US?

"Just to be clear, this is not a 2S or 4S, but similar. The previous owner told me that this is a European S Model. As far as I know it is the same as the Carrera, but wider(flared out), but not as wide as the Turbo. Have pretty much the same options as the 2S has anyways..."

I have no idea what that is, but maybe our friends in Europe can help?

Speculation alert...

Maybe a C2S spec but without the SAI issues? - IIRC European cars don't have SAI ports....

Doesn't sound correct. Why not run the VIN thru Porsche and see what they come up with?

Don't the Euro cars have the SAI ports, just like the '95s do? It is the OBD CEL crap that isn't in the way.

aha... yeah, that's more like it.... but the VIN number decode should detail what "geographic region" the car was intially shipped into.

In England - and maybe Europe as well - the C2S is actually listed as a 'Carrera S' - so it could well be an import. Ask for the original registration document - it should be on there as such.

It is often known as the Carrera S in the US also....but, lazy Americans like me get to abreviating it to C2S.

Fabspeed website has a white USA 993 converted to Euro 993 RSCS, with enough money, I suppose you could create whatever fits your fancy.

Sure, but then it is a one-off custom car, not "a European S anything".

Plus there is no body width inbetween the narrow body and the turbo. Sounds like someone probably isn't up to Rennlist speed on Porsches.

Or to put it bluntly: the guy does not know what he is talking about. Must be a salesman.

I'd say it's an import, don't forget we had different suspension/ride hight, NO SAI ports on our cars and no bumperettes, to mention the few differences that I have heard about, there could be more.
