Andreas - can you add the lighting function as applicable for me? Can you PM me if I need to do anything?

Thanks and regards,

David

I'm a little lost - what's it look like with the lighting feature? All the warning lights on, or something else?

Stedge,

I think the light feature will give you a switch (or not) to turn on the light like when you have your headlights on and your gauges illuminate. I will wait and see what it looks like and might have to get in on the 3rd batch

As Scott mentioned above, these "Original 911" Clocks by AOW Designs are really nice and you guys will love them.

that would make sense, thanks.

I'd kind of like to see all those warning lights on. Would be pretty cool.

I'll bet we see these clocks on Antique Roadshow in the year 2050...

Thankfully I'll be fertilizer by then

WarpMan, Caveman, & Macca,
Wishes noted.

Stedge,
I simply incorporate another pushbutton switch that illuminates the two bulbs - in the same manner the gauge lights up in the dashboard. My preference for this is a momentary switch, as I'm not sure the little $5 light bulbs would take kindly to inadvertently being left on too long.

Carlos4S,
A cup holder has no place in a pre-'98 911. So there is no cup holder option with the clock

Hi Andreas,
As per PM, count me in. I'll explore the electrical differences and let you know. Please reserve me a place on your 'project'.
Hugh.

Default Announcement

As a general announcement regarding this project, I will be out of town from tomorrow until next Saturday. I will have very limited, if any, internet access. Should you wish to join in the fray, please send a PM or email and I will respond no later than next Saturday.

Also, I've pretty much reached the maximum number of clocks that I am willing to build at this point. I would like to keep it at 25, but may build 30 if I find myself under duress.

I would like to add my 2-cents. I received mine, sn 0020, just after I got back from Europe. The clocks are first rate! With Andreas guidance I went ahead and did the 'lighting mod' myself. If you have the basic soldering skills, I heartily recommend it! I leave the clock on my nightstand and it's nice to be able to push a little button in the dark and have it light up!

Here's a snap shot of it,--with the lighting option. The additional button (black) is for the momentary on light. (I also added little rubber bumpers to the bottom,--just my option).
