Be aware that the '96 993 CAN'T be reprogrammed as it has a mask ROM DME,
as can the '97 & '98 DME cars with flash memories. Furthermore, some have
indicated that once the DME was reprogrammed to remove Drive-Block,
the OBDII system did not function properly.

The '96-'98 993s have enough OBDII readiness problems without additional ones!

when I purchased my car, I was not given a fob for the door/ alarm. If I get one am I going to find that it is more of a pain than its worth? Someone mentioned having to put the key in then push a button on the fob.??? Should I be worried ? Is my car going to one day want me to push a button that I do not have, and refuse to start???
