Default My Perfect Porsche

I've been looking for the right 993 for over a year now. It occurs to me that none I find will quite make me happy. Last night as I was going to sleep it came to me! I just wasn't happy with any of the styles. I've always loved the rear styling of the 959 but I consider the front hideous and none of the 993 wings really appealed to be except for the Turbo S wing. Also none of the front clips seemed right, although I loved the RUF CTR2. I wanted to get a C2S so I had the wide body because I love the shape of the rear end and simply add the Turbo S wing and some RS moldings, however even that did not seem quite my taste. Here is what I came up with...

Why not take say a '97 C2 993, add the complete 959 rear, and use the RUF CTR2 front bumper cover! Custom side skirts would need to be made, however using the MA Shaw 959 rear and their +2" 993 front fenders, it would not be a stretch at all. Also, you could make moldings to make either the RUF CTR2 front side grills match the 959's rear grills, or the other way around. I also imagine such a car with 19" RUF wheels done all in Glacier White!

Some of the good points about my plan are that I would not need to sacrafice a wide body C2S, I could simply use any C2 993 which would keep the initial investment down and not offend the purists by butchering an S model. Also because I want Glacier White, black interior, and a 6-spd, it would make my search allot easier not going after an S model now. Of course I'd do mods like a manual steering rack, suspension, and brakes and eventually a 3.8TT upgrade much later on when funds permit.

So, would anyone care to comment or maybe do a quick photoshop in regards to the 959 rear and CTR2 front with 19" RUF wheels? I'm drooling and can't sit still just thinking about it! For me atleast this would be the ultimate.

If you are going to go thru all that trouble, you might as well get a cheap beat-up salvage titled 993 and redo all the bodywork to your liking. To do all that to a good 993 would be a sacrifice regardless if it is a C2 or a C2S.

You know, I've noticed recently that on newer 911's (like the one above and newer) front and rear overhangs seem really long. Understandable in back, I suppose, with the motor back there. In front for visual balance perhaps. But with most cars pushing the wheels out to the corners these days the proportions are starting to look a little off -- the wheels seem too close together.

You should know as well as I that it's always much easier, and less expensive in the long run, to start with a perfect condition car

Sorry, I definantly want a C2. For the feel if anything. That's why I mentioned the manual steering rack.

I'm going to use as many RUF parts as possible. I'll call it an "RUF 959/2S"
